CCAMLR International Internships
The CCAMLR Secretariat announces opportunities for international internships to be hosted by the Secretariat in Hobart during 2026. The 8 – 10 week internships are made possible with funding from the China Contribution Fund.
CCAMLR International Internships on technical and scientific subjects are open for application from any person who is a citizen of a State Member of the Commission. Although they are primarily aimed at actively enrolled graduate or postgraduate students to assist in expanding engagement of Members in CCAMLR, applications from early career professionals may be accepted. The internships aim to provide the applicant with an opportunity to gain experience in the work of a multilateral conservation and management organisation as well as acquiring skills necessary to undertake a professional role in the discipline of interest. Internships may be available in several departments of the Secretariat, including Communications, Fisheries Monitoring and Compliance (FMC), and Science. Remuneration is not provided, however, return international travel to Hobart and a significant contribution towards living expenses for the internship period are available.
Suggested topics for internships will be listed on the internship webpage from 15 November 2025 along with the application form.
Applicants should complete the application form and apply via email to the CCAMLR Secretariat at ccamlr [at] ccamlr [dot] org by 17 December 2025. All applications for an internship will be reviewed by the Executive Secretary based on the qualifications of the intern, the clarity of internship objectives, the relevance of internship to the work priorities and work plan of the CCAMLR Secretariat.
