Discussions among Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties on the conservation of Antarctic marine living resources commenced with a recommendation at the eighth meeting of the Antarctic Treaty (ATCM VIII) in Oslo, Norway, in June 1975. Between 1975 and 1981, the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties met in working groups, extended preparatory meetings, special preparatory meetings and consultative meetings to consider the conservation of Antarctic marine living resources.
Una Parte contratante de la CCRVMA es un estado u organización regional de integración económica, como la Unión Europea, sujeto voluntariamente a la Convención mediante su ratificación, aceptación, aprobación o su adhesión a ella. Une Partie contractante à la CCAMLR est un État ou une organisation d'intégration économique régionale, telle que l'Union européenne, qui s'est engagé à respecter la Convention par voie de ratification, d'acceptation, d'approbation ou d'adhésion. Les Membres regroupent les Parties contractantes ayant participé à la première réunion en 1980 au cours de laquelle la Convention a été adoptée, ainsi que les États ayant par la suite adhéré à la Convention et que la Commission a acceptés en tant que Membres.
A CCAMLR Contracting Party is a State or a regional economic integration organisation, such as the European Union, which has committed to the Convention through ratification, acceptance, approval or accession. Members include those Contracting Parties that participated in the first meeting at which the Convention was adopted in 1980, as well as States that have subsequently acceded to the Convention and been accepted as Members by the Commission. The Convention is open for accession by any State interested in research or harvesting activities to which the Convention applies.
