This paper highlights the continuation of a significant level of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing activities in the Convention Area. It proposes that the Commission adopt a range of further measures to combat such activities.

This paper summarises reports of lost, discarded and deployed fishing and marine gear related activities undertaken by Australia in the Convention Area during the year to 30 June 1998.
