From 6 to 10 March 2023, the CCAMLR Secretariat will be supporting the 10th International Fisheries Observer and Monitoring Conference (IFOMC), the premier international conference series for promoting effective fishery monitoring programs throughout the world.
El Festival Antártico Australiano se celebró en Hobart, Tasmania, entre el 24 y el 28 de agosto de 2022. Se trata de un evento único en Australia y se organiza cada dos años para celebrar la posición de la ciudad de Hobart como puerta destacada de acceso a la Antártida.

Le Festival australien de l'Antarctique s'est tenu à Hobart, en Tasmanie, du 24 au 28 août 2022. Cet événement, unique en son genre en Australie, est organisé tous les deux ans pour célébrer la place qu'occupe la ville parmi les principales portes de l'Antarctique.
The Australian Antarctic Festival was hosted in Hobart, Tasmania, from 24 to 28 August 2022. This is the only event of its kind in Australia and is held biennially to celebrate the city’s position as a major Antarctic gateway city.
A finales de julio, la Secretaría se despidió de la Sra. Christina Macha (Chris, como la conocemos en la oficina), Asistente de contaduría, quien podrá apagar la calculadora y disfrutar de una merecida jubilación. La Sra. Macha nos acompañó por más de dos décadas, después de que un contrato temporal de un mes se alargara sin avisar. Ella ha sido el punto de contacto de muchos Miembros para las finanzas de la CCRVMA.
В конце июля Секретариат попрощался с Сотрудником по финансовым вопросам Кристиной Махой (Крис для тех из нас, кто работает в офисе), и теперь она может забросить калькулятор и наслаждаться заслуженным отдыхом. Крис была частью декораций нашего офиса на протяжении более двух десятилетий после того, как она согласилась на временную должность, рассчитанную всего на месяц!
Fin juillet, le secrétariat a fait ses adieux à son agente comptable, Christina (Chris pour ses collègues) Macha, qui peut maintenant ranger sa calculatrice et profiter d'une retraite amplement méritée. Après avoir été recrutée pour une mission qui ne devait durer qu'un mois, Chris est finalement restée au service du secrétariat pendant plus de vingt ans ! De nombreux Membres se sont tournés vers elle concernant des questions financières relatives à la CCAMLR et elle sera regrettée bien au-delà des murs du secrétariat.
At the end of July the Secretariat said farewell to Finance Officer Christina (Chris to those of us in the office) Macha, so she may hang up her calculator and enjoy a well-earned retirement. Chris has been part of the scenery here for over two decades after initially accepting a temporary position only meant to last for a month! Chris has been the contact for many Members regarding finances at CCAMLR and will be missed by many far beyond the walls of the Secretariat, and far beyond her position description as all the extras she looked after will be hard to manage without her.
