Publications

Annual publications

The Commission report contains the record of the discussions among CCAMLR Members and the decisions made at the Commission’s annual meetings in Hobart.
The Scientific Committee report is an annual publication recording CCAMLR’s scientific meetings throughout the year.
The Statistical Bulletin summarises catch and effort data from fisheries in the CAMLR Convention Area.
CCAMLR Science contains scientific articles that underpin the conservation and the rational use of Antarctic marine living resources.
The Conservation Measures are binding on all Members and apply in the CAMLR Convention Area.
Fishery Reports describe the status, trends, by-catch, assessments, ecosystem implications and management advice concerning fisheries in the Convention area. These fisheries are assessed every one or two years.

Manuals

The Inspectors Manual (8.03 MB) assists inspectors on fishing vessels to conduct their duties as inspectors.
The Scientific Observers Manual – 2011 (3.46 MB) contains a number of guidelines for scientific observations and reference materials, assisting CCAMLR Members and their observers in planning observation programs and recording data.
CCAMLR Ecosystem Monitoring Program Standard Methods (1.06 MB) provide guidance on data collection to monitor potential annual impacts due to harvesting.
Basic Documents contain the text of the Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, the rules and procedures of the Commission and the Scientific Committee, and all of the administrative regulations of the Secretariat and CCAMLR as a whole.

Fishing-related documents

Fish the Sea not the Sky (3.07 MB) is a guide for fishers to avoid by-catch of seabirds.
The VME Taxa Classification Guide (983.52 KB) provides a guide in the classification of macroscopic marine invertebrate.
The Field Identification Guide to Heard Island and McDonald Islands Benthic Invertebrates (6.01 MB) is a guide for scientific observers on board fishing vessels in that area.
The Fishing gear library is a reference library being developed as part of CCAMLR’s work on vulnerable marine ecosystems (VMEs).

Posters and information material

CCAMLR’s Pop-up banner (1.25 MB) tells the story of how the organisation came about and how it operates some 30 years later.
The CCAMLR flyer (118.15 KB), presenting CCAMLR, is available in CCAMLR’s four official languages.
The Skate Discard Poster (593.06 KB) was made in an effort to reduce the discard of skates. Apart from being available in CCAMLR's official languages, this guide was also produced in Indonesian (592.38 KB), Japanese (709.18 KB) and Korean (632.75 KB).
The Hook Discard Poster (120.74 KB) is, apart from CCAMLR's official languages, also available in Indonesian (303.34 KB), Japanese (435.82 KB) and Korean (230.97 KB).
As well as being available in CCAMLR's official languages, the Overboard is not Forgotten (1.26 MB) poster was also produced in Chinese (428.18 KB), Indonesian (196.7 KB), Japanese (275.78 KB) and Korean (632.75 KB) to emphasise that correct disposal of waste on vessels is essential to avoid impacts on Antarctic wildlife.
This Identification Guide for Toothfish (328.63 KB) helps assist in the identification of processed toothfish and is intended for use by inspectors/CDS officials, who need to determine if the frozen fish fillets are likely to be from toothfish or not.
