    Abstract

There have been revealed possibilities for the long-term forecast of CPUE for the Antarctic krill (tones per hour) as the major indicator of its abundance and density of concentrations in the area of South Shetland and South Orkney Islands as well as South Georgia applying the following factors: average annual level of solar activity, speed of the Earth rotation and its derivatives. Mechanism of links can be explained as follows. It was stated that anomaly of the solar activity index is inversely linked with recurrence of zonal atmospheric transfers. The latter is directly associated with the index of krill abundance in the first of the abovementioned areas and inversely linked with one in the second and third of the abovementioned areas. Consequently, zonal transfer is favorable for concentrations of crustaceans in topographic whirlpools on the shelf of the South Orkney Islands and South Georgia, and for the area of the South Shetland Islands – predominance of the meridian one.
