The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), an intergovernmental organisation with its Headquarters in Hobart, invites applications for the position of Data Systems Analyst with primary responsibilities for leadership in the data management lifecycle for CCAMLR core datasets.
Provide the technical leadership in the data management lifecycle for CCAMLR core datasets.
CCAMLR data is findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.
Applicants must address the following selection criteria:
Academic and other qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Information Management and/or Statistics and relevant experience
An equivalent combination of relevant data management and software development experience and education/training
Post graduate qualifications in a Data Science discipline
Successful applicant must already have a right to work in Australia
Work experience and skills
Minimum three years of relevant experience in areas of environmental data management
Experience developing software in a routine data processing environment
Experience in data collection and dissemination amongst a variety of data users
Experience in the development of a corporate data warehouse
Development of websites and workflows in a content managed system
Project management experience
Programming expertise (R, PHP, Python) and integration with SQL
Integrated database management system experience (DBA knowledge)
Experience in an ETL product (eg SSIS, Talend, Jasper, CloverETL)
Other qualities or behaviours
Demonstrated competence in conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong teamwork skills
Effective at building good working relationships

Employment terms and conditions
- The initial position will be full time for 3 years, with a probation period of three months. The commencing salary is AU$80 679 per annum.
- Up to 15.8% employer contribution is paid to an approved Superannuation Fund.
- Six weeks annual leave and 10 days personal leave per annum apply.
- Costs of relocation to Hobart will not be paid.
