This week the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) reached an exciting milestone – 15,000 likes on Facebook! We are thrilled there are so many people interested in what we do. Here are some statistics for the number-lovers out there:
- Our user base is 61% women and 38% men.
- We have a wide range of age profiles interested in our page, but the 45–54 age bracket just reaches the top spot (13% of female users and 8% of male users).
- Our users come from all around the world, and the countries with the most users are USA, France, UK and Australia. Brazil, Canada, Germany and Italy are not far behind.
- People prefer to access our content on a desktop computer, but mobile use is catching up.
Our most popular posts so far this year were shared links about the penguin ‘super colony’ discovered by NASA, and research on board the RV Investigator about water salinity and temperature.
Thank you for all the likes, reactions, shares and comments over the years, we couldn’t have done it without you!
