Requirement for flag vessels of Contracting Parties fishing or undertaking research in the Convention Area to be marked in accordance with the ‘FAO standard specifications and guidelines for marking and identification of fishing vessels’

This paper highlights the importance of having a uniform standard of vessel identification markings on vessels fishing in the Convention Area. It is proposed that the 'FAO Standard Specifications and Guidelines for Marking and Identification of Fishing Vessels' be adopted by CCAMLR as a standard system to identify fishing vessels.
