Inside the Convention Area

To participate in fishing activities inside the Convention Area, Members must issue a licence to their flagged vessels detailing the specific areas, species and time periods that fishing is authorised. The details of these licences must be provided to the CCAMLR Secretariat within seven days of issue.  A list of Licensed vessels operating in the Convention Area is made available to Contracting Parties, non-Contracting Parties, NGO's and the public.

Outside the Convention Area

To assist in the operation of the Catch Documentation Scheme (CDS), in 2003 the Commission urged Members to submit, on a voluntary basis, details of their flag vessels licensed to fish for Dissostichus spp. from outside the Convention Area. A list of vessels that fish for Dissostichus spp. from outside the Convention Area is made available to Contracting Parties and non-Contracting Parties cooperating with CCAMLR by participating in the CDS.
